What is the Be Your Own Best Boss programme?

It's a three month online group coaching programme for PhD students and post docs. You will learn how to be your own best boss so that you can support yourself to achieve your goals without beating yourself up.

You will learn practical skills to help with planning, time management, and task monitoring, as well as softer skills like how to reduce imposter syndrome, be more self-compassionate, and manage procrastination.

What does the programme include?

  • Four 2hr content-filled online workshops
  • Nine 1hr online group coaching sessions
  • A complete ebook on How to be your own best boss, with reflective questions and activities
  • Access to a Slack community
  • Private work-along YouTube videos
  • Bonus - access to any other university workshops that are running during the three month (more details soon)!

How much does the programme cost?

The entire programme is £300 for three month's access. This is payable in advance by bank transfer.

I'm going to be honest here. I know this is a chunk of cash for people early in their academic career but there is a huge amount of value here. I want you to compare the size of this investment with the amount it would cost if you take 1-2 months longer to complete your PhD or to secure your next post doc contract. It works out about £3.40 per day :)

When does the programme run?

It starts at the beginning of April 2024. The sessions are going to run on  Wednesdays, at different times of day to accommodate timezones (I've had enquiries from the UK, US, Australia and Thailand so far, so we're covering a good chunk of the world!) You'll get the book before the start and then there'll be sessions every week until the end of June.
